My name is Claire Hodder and I am a fully qualified and insured - Reiki Practitioner/Teacher and Animal Communicator and have been practising Reiki for over eight years. I decided to practise professionally in 2003. Alongside my Reiki practice I am also a professional Animal Communicator and have been talking with animals all my life.
I am currently offering reiki treatments for people on the outskirts of the town Frinton On Sea, which is about 20 minutes from Colchester. I also offer a call out consultation service for animals and equines.
I strive hard to provide a professional, honest and friendly healing service to clients with emotional, physical and mental symptoms, and for those that wish to receive a relaxing holistic treatment.
I specialise in working with horses and animals, and this is the field in which I predominantly work. Each treatment, whether I am working with an animal, or person, the reiki session has a consultation prior to and after the treatment. During the fifteen minute grounding time after receiving reiki, we may discuss your individual experiences, sensations and further requirements. It is beneficial to have some healing time at the end of the treatment to allow you to adjust to the healing energy. I often find that many of my clients like to ask a few questions after their experience so the conclusive consultation is always done in a relaxed and leisurely manner, allowing you to feel grounded before leaving.
Along side the system of reiki, I also regularly hold workshops and courses in Animal Communication, from beginners to the more experienced. For more information on courses and workshops visit the Animal Courses page.
I continually work on my own personal development as I feel that we can only help others by our own experience. I try my hardest to practice what I preach, although as I often say - "I am only human!"
Reiki really has changed my life for the better. That's not to say that it hasn't been tricky along the way, but when I dedicate myself to reiki practice and follow the flow then things always seem to turn around for the good of all concerned. I have reiki to thank for this and with hand on heart can say, I am truly walking the reiki path for me right now!
My Reiki Journey: How I got to this point in my life.
After seeing an advertisement in a horse magazine, and not knowing what reiki was let alone knowing how to pronounce it, I took the plunge and sat for my first attunement. Since then (seven years ago,) I honestly have not looked back. Reiki (pronounced ray - key) has opened doors for me that might have otherwise stayed closed. Always having the ability to communicate with animals through wordless communication, I never really gave a second thought that I might be practicing it professionally one day. Reiki made that happen. I am now a Reiki Practitioner/Teacher in the traditional Usui Mikao system of Reiki Ryoho and am astonished that more people are not practicing the system of reiki. It is energy in its simplest form, it is in you and I.
It is you and I!
Reiki is all encompassing and I believe more people should be experiencing it. It fills us with the sense that we might overcome any obstical put in front of us. Enabling us to deal with issues that may have previously sent us running for the hills, in a much calmer and rational way.
I was originally based in the hills and the valleys of beautiful Cornwall and practicing reiki in this wild and rugged landscape was indeed a memory that one day I hope to repeat. I spent eight years there and it will remain my home for eternity. My spirituality was born there and grew amongst the horses and their owners. But reiki has a way of flipping the coin on you when you least expect it,( albeit in a positive way) I ended up back in the county of Essex from which I started, and so the next phase of my journey begins!
I have been attuned to Reiki since December 2002 (ten days before my 21st birthday). I was regarded as being quite young at 20 years old to start my spiritual journey in this way, but being a psychic child has a way of making you grow up pretty fast. As soon as my attunement happened I knew that my path was picked to work with horses; and now at the age of 30; Reiki is still my security blanket!
Clients were queuing up before I was attuned to level two, just three months later and my professional Reiki Practice was born. I then took my level three teaching degree in March 2004 and was content with my chosen path for the next five years - and even managed to fit in two beautiful baby girls too! After this initial 'good run,'the years progressed and I increasingly felt that there was something missing. The reiki had started to get too complicated and far too 'airy fairy' for me. The lines between reiki and other spiritual modalities began to get blurred and I felt sure that I needed to re-attune to reiki three. I spent some time researching practitioners that I felt were teaching as closely to Usui Mikao's teachings as possible. I came across a fantastic website by a Reiki Practitioner/Teacher - Nina Fotara (Angel Inspirations) and instantly knew that she would be the teacher for me. So here I am! I now practice a very simple and bare roots type of reiki - Reiki Ryoho which has brought me back to my own core beliefs and comforts.
I strive to provide the best treatment experience that I can for all my clients and therefore am continually trying to enhance myself in all areas to do this. Self improvement is very important to me, but more so is finding the truth by myself. I try not to follow conventional groups and mystical principles, rather trusting my own natural instincts how nature intended. I am fully insured and offer a professional and confidential service.
